Church services and events
We are an open and inclusive church and would love you to join us for our regular services held in our three beautiful churches: St James, Alveston; St Peter’s Manor Road; and the Old Church, Alveston. Services are followed by an opportunity for fellowship and refreshments.
St Peter’s, Manor Road - every Sunday at 9.15am
First Sunday in the month - Holy Communion
Second Sunday in the month - lay-led service
Third Sunday in the month - Holy Communion
Fourth Sunday in the month - lay-led service
St James, Alveston - every Sunday at 10.30am
First Sunday in the month - Family service, led by the Youth Choir
Second Sunday in the month - Holy Communion
Third Sunday in the month - lay-led service of the Word/Morning Prayer
Fourth Sunday in the month - Holy Communion
Old Church, Alveston - every Thursday at 10.30am during the summer months (moves to St James once the weather cools).
Where possible we offer a service of Holy Communion but if no priest is available, it will be a lay led service.
On the fifth Sunday in the month we hold a joint service between the congregation of St James and St Peter’s.
We also hold special services and events throughout the year. These can be found in our events calendar below. Do come along and join us in worship and fellowship.
Soft play at St Peter’s Manor Road
Held every Monday during term time.
A fun, free session for babies (birth to age 3) and their care-givers to interact and explore our lovely squishy soft play equipment, meet other babies and gain new skills in a safe environment.
Great Peg Nativity
Help us to decorate 400 wooden peg dolls to make our community peg nativity.
The nativity will be on display during December, but we need your help to prepare now. Pegs will be provided. You just need some pens or paints and a little creativity!
